BetMGM Casino Releasing NHL Branded Games in Time For Hockey Season

Hockey’s regular season is upon us and, right on time, BetMGM Casino has announced a partnership for NHL-branded online casino games.

BetMGM joined with Evolution for the iGaming offerings, which will be available in New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania as well as the Canadian province of Ontario.

There are some more NHL preseason games this weekend but the Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks are getting the regular season started with games in Prague, Czech Republic, on Friday and Saturday. The first televised regular-season doubleheader is Tuesday, Oct. 11, with the Tampa Bay Lightning visiting the New York Rangers and the Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche hosting the Chicago Blackhawks. 

The U.S. states where the NHL-branded games will be available all have NHL teams — the New Jersey Devils, Detroit Red Wings, and the Pennsylvania pair of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers — and they are three of the six states in which regulated online casinos are legal.

“We're excited to broaden our relationship with BetMGM through the development of NHL-branded casino games, particularly when these new platforms allow us to deepen the connection NHL fans have to our sport in a more immersive and compelling way,” NHL Vice President of Business Development Jason Jazayeri said in a news release. “We look forward to collaborating with BetMGM on other fan-centric efforts in years to come."

Online blackjack, roulette and baccarat will be available for real money online casino players, as well as a live Money Wheel game called Dream Catcher.

"The launch of these one-of-a-kind games further strengthens our relationship with the NHL," BetMGM Director of Gaming Oliver Bartlett said in the release. “As the season approaches, we're thrilled that our players will have the ability to 'drop the puck' with BetMGM.”

One of the most enticing features of the NHL-themed games available on the best casino apps is a setting similar to a live casino feel.
