Lake Tahoe Land-Based Casino Operators

There are seven casinos in Lake Tahoe, situated on both the north and south sides of the lake. 

The three north Lake Tahoe casinos are operated by a mix of independent and small operators. Crystal Bay Club and Casino and Jim Kelly’s Tahoe Nugget Casino are both family owned, while the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort has the Grand Lodge casino operated by Full House Resorts.

Meanwhile the south Lake Tahoe casino operators are some of the most well known in the US:

• Caesars Entertainment – Operate two Lake Tahoe properties – Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and Harvey’s Lake Tahoe
• Bally’s – Operate Bally’s Lake Tahoe

• Harvey’s Lake Tahoe – The very first casino hotel built on Lake Tahoe’s south shore, Harvey’s offers incredible views of the lake and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The hotel has 743 rooms, a rooftop pool, fitness center, seven restaurants, three bars and the 9,000 capacity Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey’s that hosts headline acts. The 88,00 square foot casino has 600 slots, 100 live table games, a poker room and a Caesars Sportsbook. 
• Harrah’s Lake Tahoe – Located opposite Harvey’s, Harrah’s has over 500 rooms, an indoor pool, fitness center, spa and salon, seven restaurants, seven bars, shopping and a live music venue. The casino has over 700 slots, 70 live table games and a sportsbook. 
• Bally’s Lake Tahoe – Featuring a 438 room hotel, indoor lagoon style pool with hot tub, an arcade, escape room, three restaurants and a huge indoor entertainment venue. The casino at Bally’s Lake Tahoe has 415 slots, 20 live table games and a sportsbook. 

More Than Gambling

At Lake Tahoe you can experience all four seasons with activities and adventures in each. Here’s a few highlights:

• Summer Activities – Go hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding or take a glass bottom boat at Emerald Bay,  or take the Tahoe Rim Trail, which is a 165-mile loop trail with incredible hiking, biking, and camping options. Experienced mountain bike riders will love the Flume Trail and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Cave Rock is ideal for stargazing. 
• Winter Activities – Tahoe winters are epic and resorts such as Heavenly Mountain Resort, Kirkwood Mountain Resort, Northstar, and Palisades Tahoe offer excellent skiing and snowboarding options as well as scenic gondola rides. You can also go sledding, ice skating or take out a snowmobile. 
• Fun Days Out – Take a tour of Vikingsholm Castle at Emerald Bay, visit St. Francis of the Mountains,  or enjoy one of the many beaches such as Sand Harbor Beach or Pope Beach.  See wildlife at Taylor Creek Visitor Center or pluck up the courage to go to one of the Tahoe Treetop Adventure Parks with rope bridges and zip lines. 
• Food and Drink – Lake Tahoe offers some fabulous restaurants and eateries from fine dining to quick eats, many with spectacular views. On the south side, there are lots of lakeside dining options such as The Lake House. On the north side, Gar Woods is known for its "Wet Woody" cocktails. If you love craft beer and outdoor drinking then Basecamp Beer Garden is the place you want to be.
