The property started life as Harvey's, operating from a three-story riverboat called the Kanesville Queen that floated on the Missouri River. Harrah's acquired it in 2001, and when Iowa legalized onshore casino operations in 2007, the casino moved to dry land in 2013, setting up in the former convention center on the riverbank.
