Regal Riches is one of those strange kinds of slot machines that are probably no one’s favourites, but everyone still plays from time to time. That is to its credit, but let’s see if we can explain it all in a little more depth.

Let’s start off by pointing out that it has a largely unique mechanic. That is quite rare to find on the land based casino floor these days, where the hold and spin, pots, and progressives rule supreme in 2026. They are gems of different colors, and when you land them, they go to boost the numbers on the glistening ‘must hit by’ symbols at the top of the screen. It’s how they progress.

If you are not playing the UK version, where gambling rules outlaw ‘must hit by’ stuff (but not perceived progression, figure that one out), those symbols at the top of the screen will also have numbers attached to them. The number represents the number of wilds each bonus awards in the ten free games. If the number gets high enough, it will then reveal the ‘must hit by’ figure.

There is also a standard wild, though, which is blue. They are collected into a smaller pot. At random times, the pot is emptied and spews the collected wilds into a normal spin. As I mentioned at the top of this review, the Regal Riches mechanic is quite unique. For that reason alone, it deserves credit.

Once you trigger one of the three bonuses, you are awarded 10 free spins. During those ten free games, you will be awarded the wilds that have been collected along the way by every player who has played it since the specific bonus you have was last triggered.

For example, say you trigger a Minor bonus when it has collected 56 wilds. Those 56 wilds will be spewed into the ten free spins. They are guaranteed. It’s like you are winning other people’s wilds, which is awesome. Even better, the wilds can double up to make multipliers.
