Welcome once again, inquisitive readers, to another slot review that is 50% about animals, 54% about slots, 26% about neither of these things, and 8% about how you can improve your looks by wearing a bag over your head.
Today, though, depending on the day you’re reading this, which may have been tomorrow, we once more head into the habitat of the junkyard to present the sequel to the Junkyard King slot by Bullshark Games. The title of this follow-up is Junkyard Kings 2, and to help present this review and give it a certain degree of class is none other than the man whose parents named David Slottenborough.
David is our animal slot expert, and for those already aware of this, you know exactly what terrible situational comedy is about to be unveiled. For those who are new, sit back and marvel at the forthcoming fantastical expedition into the animal kingdom.

For the inhabitants of the common junkyard, life here used to be fairly simple. Previously run by a common breed of rat, the Junkyard has since taken on new ownership, and this time, it’s the raccoons' turn. No longer operated as a business, this junkyard is now ruled over by the Raccoon King, who now makes this scrap heap his stately home. Join me, David Slottenborough, as we look at the life of this rodent ruler in closer detail.
The Bullshark Games slot is also powered by Hacksaw Gaming, and you can see many familiar traits of this partnering developer within this game, more so than you can with the first Junkyard Kings slot. Other familiar factors include the programming. The Junkyard Kings 2 slot has an RTP of 96.29% and a medium-to-high volatility, an increase from the first game. What this does to a game is reduce the frequency of winning, but can potentially churn out bigger wins.
The grid is made up of seven rows and reels, housing a Cluster Pays format of winning. To win, five or more symbols in a cluster constitute a win. The bigger the cluster, the higher the return. The highest single win is 20,000x your staked bet. The price of a spin can range from $0.10 to $50. If you were to bet big, the max jackpot becomes $1,000,000.
Some of the game’s original features remain, with some additional updates. With this dynamic, Hacksaw Gaming influences are nowhere to be seen. What is visible is the range of various Wild features, like Walking Wilds and Boosters. You have the Cell Multipliers, two Bonus rounds, and you have the Bonus Buy option.
While the game is a distinct upgrade from the first, it still feels like more could have been done to at least make the experience entertaining. It’s a classic case of a developer not following through on the concept, so you're just going through the motions of playing, without the immersive quality or fun.

Business at the Junkyard has been slow of late, and therefore, the now King wishes to make sure that order is kept, work is ramped up, and that previous dwellers are thoroughly kept well away. Under the new rule, the place has seen an upgrade of sorts. The clutter is somewhat more organized and has changed from how it looked under the rats. But just how well does this non-mechanical slot now function?
Just in time, a lonesome Slot Player enters the online casino looking for old computing components. The Slot Player catches the scent of the game and becomes distracted. After a smell or two, the Slot Player selects their wager and chooses to play the game with $2 spins. The first spin gets off to a successful start with two features aiding the payout of $17. First, the Walking Wild comes into play, producing a win that is met by the Avalanche feature. This removes winning symbols and produces new ones, and activates a Cell Multiplier for each winning area.
On with the spins, and three more later, the Walking Wild arrives again to only summon a win of $0.80. The next spin is more successful for the Slot Player, with a $6.60 win. Whilst the game’s hit rate is fairly moderate, the mood and tone are very reserved, with seemingly no chaos to it, which would have been more expected given the theme. The interaction between the Slot Player and Junkyard Kings 2 is frankly quite dull in every aspect.
After a few more wins and completing a total of 20 spins, the Slot Player withdraws the balance of $14.20 and makes his way out. From our observations, the Slot Player didn’t seem too keen to continue the experience, and whilst the game boasted many improvements, the King ultimately needs to make more.
