Joining me today to review the release of Guitar Quest by Relax Gaming is a former session musician whose career spanned the 1960s through to the early 1980s. Over the years, he played with some of the biggest names in rock, survived more tour buses than most mechanics, and somehow emerged with both his hearing and sense of humor mostly intact. It is, of course, Albert ‘Where are the groupies?’ Slotstein.
We’ve asked Albert to use his rock knowledge and skill to play the slot game for real money and to provide details on how to play, an analysis of the in-play features and mechanics, and what he won. So, stick around and discover if this Guitar Quest slot can rock and roll, or if it’s all out of tune.

Anyway. I’m really happy to be invited to play this online game, Guitar Quest. Sounds a bit like one of those guitar games that were all the rage back in the early 2000s. You know the sort: flashing notes, questionable rhythm, and players convinced they were one sold-out arena away from rock stardom.
Still, Guitar Quest looks and sounds the part, so I’m hoping to rock out and not crash out. From what I can see, it’s got towering amps, blazing stage lights, and enough guitars to make a roadie break into a cold sweat. If the soundtrack’s loud enough to rattle my remaining fillings and the features hit harder than a drum solo at closing time, we could be onto a winner here.
So, let’s crank the volume up to an irresponsible level, throw caution to the wind, and see if Guitar Quest can bring a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll chaos to the reels.
Relax Gaming has made the Guitar Quest slot RTP 96.10%, with a high volatility setting included. When playing this slot machine, expect few returns and hit rates lower than those of other slots. With that said, the slot can potentially pay out big sums. The largest single win is 10,000x the bet.
Now, the price of play starts at $0.10 and rises to $100. This can make the jackpot a total of $1,000,000! To win, you must align three or more matching symbols across adjacent reels, starting with reel one. The layout of five reels and four rows produces up to 1,024 ways to win.
The special in-play features of this game can lead to a multitude of chances to help you win more money. The Guitar Quest slot game comes with the benefit of the Equalizer feature, which contains four different modifiers. There are also the bonus rounds, which you can pick, and the Super Charge feature to buy bonuses and features.
Well, it’s about that time in the review, where we provide the verdict through cleverly used puns, all in the form of known rock songs and lyrics. So, presented in the style of a top 3 chart countdown, here are the top 3 putdowns.
In at number 3:
“It’s only rock ‘n’ roll, but I don’t like it.”
Moving up the charts to number 2:
“I love rock ‘n’ roll, but I won’t be putting another dime in this slot machine, baby.”
…and new in at number 1 and top of the putdown charts:
“Relax Gaming thinks I’m insane because they have me frowning all the time.”
Anyway, on with the game, and I have to say that from the off, the design of Guitar Quest impresses me by keeping it nice and simple and not over the top, despite the cinematic intro video that Relax Gaming does for all their slots.
I kick off the show with my $2 spins. Well, of course, it takes seven bloody spins before the first win lands, and this only comes in at $2.40. The music picks up, but the play still feels like the warm-up act. After ten spins are played, and just one win, I decide to raise the price of my bets to $3 per spin.
Instantly, the second win lands, but only pays out $0.60. To say the hit rate is low would be an understatement. Even the Bay City Rollers had more hits. Eight more spins are played until a $0.90 win drops, followed by the two Bonus symbols and almost a third, the most dramatic action of this slot game so far.
That’s a total of 20 spins and only three wins. Sadly, this show comes with no performance whatsoever. It’s really tragic, man. But rather than fade away, I decide to go out with a bang, raising my bet to $5 a spin. After four spins, I win $1.50, then $0.50. Then, suddenly, the clenched fist to the left of the game hits the Equalizer feature to activate the Twin Riff Split, but sadly, it hits a bum note and leads to zero wins.
Man, this game is a drag, I’m pulling the plug. Let’s just say, the show must not go on.
