Push Gaming has had some good success over the years with jar-themed slots. The Jammin' Jars slot and its sequel, the Jammin' Jars 2 slot are two of the company’s most popular titles, so it makes sense that they would want to capitalize on that. Giga Jar features more jars dancing the night away, with the slot also using the Cluster Pays mechanic that has helped make previous slots so popular. Does this continue Push Gaming’s fine tradition of jar-themed slots? Let’s take it for a spin and find out in this Giga Jar slot review.
The idea of little jars dancing the night away at a nightclub is very amusing, and Push Gaming has really doubled down on it with Giga Jar. The slot is set inside a fruit-themed nightclub, with one of the titular jars sitting in a little DJ booth on the side of the reels. He is sitting on a stack of other colorful jars, all of which you will need to fill to launch a bonus feature. The soundtrack is suitably lively, giving off a mid-1980s Miami club vibe.
Giga Jar, as its name might suggest, uses a Cluster Pays mechanic. The fun takes place on an enhanced 7x7 grid, with winning combinations being formed of five or more symbols anywhere on the reels.
A stack of coins icon above the Spin button is used to change the stake. The minimum bet in the slot is $0.10, and the maximum is $100.
These lively little jars have no problem making a move to mobile devices. The slot has been developed using HTML5 technology, ensuring you get the same gameplay experience on both smartphones and tablets.
Like the Jammin Jars slot before it, the Giga Jar slot game bursts to life with its bonus features. As we mentioned earlier in this review, the jars at the side of the reel are key to these. The slot uses a Cascading Wins mechanic, with winning symbols disappearing from the grid and new ones falling down. This continues until no more winning clusters are created.
Every time a winning cascade occurs, part of the jars will fill. The jar will reset at the end of a cascade, so wins need to be consecutive to fill the jar. After the first three wins, the Wild Jar Symbol becomes active. A Wild Jar will be added to a random position. This then sticks to the reels during cascades, moving to another position to help land wins.
Every time it is used in a win, an additional jar is added. Once three jars are active, the next stage is triggered – the Giga Jar. This is a large symbol covering a 2x2 spot on the grid. This will count as four instances of the same symbol. It starts with a 1x multiplier and will stay active for three wins. After three wins, it will become active again with an increased multiplier. It is possible to get the multiplier up to 50x.
There are also two more bonus features. The Snowball Feature is triggered on a non-winning spin after two winning cascades. This will add two giant symbols to the grid in random positions, and these can be up to 4x4 in size.
Finally, there is the Ice Breaker feature. This can trigger in the same circumstances as the Snowball feature. When this happens, it removes 1-3 symbol types from the grid, triggering a cascade.
The Giga Jar has some excellent winning potential. The slot offers a maximum win of 10,000x the player’s stake. It has been given a medium volatility rating by Push Gaming. The best available version of the slot has an RTP of 96.48%, putting it higher than most real money slots online. There are other versions available.
If we can say one thing about Push Gaming, it’s that they know how to make excellent slot games based on jars. Giga Jar knocks it out of the park regarding its design, gameplay, and winning potential. The bonus features complement the base game nicely, and you can set off some excellent streaks of gameplay if you’re lucky. Overall, this is a slot we are more than happy to recommend taking for a spin at your favorite top online casinos.
