The Asian Variant of the Three Card Poker! That’s how Evolution describes its Teen Patti game, a live dealer title that’s popular at online casinos. I came across the game, decided to try it out, and you’re about to learn what I found.
Evolution designed Teen Patti to be simple, following the classic rules. It features a 52-card deck with no jokers, all standard poker bets, and two optional side bets. Plus, the maximum potential payout is up to 5:1 with the standard bet.
I’ve only provided a sneak peek of what I experienced while playing Evolution’s Teen Patti. In my opinion, the game is worth playing, but are there aspects that it can improve? Read on to find out.
Since it’s a live game, Teen Patti plays out in real time. The goal is to beat the dealer by having a stronger three-card hand (instead of a five-card hand in most standard poker variants). One golden rule is that the dealer only qualifies to play if they have a Queen-high or better. Basically, if their hand doesn’t contain at least a Queen, you instantly win.
When I joined the table, I set my Ante bet and waited for the next round. If you want, you can also place any of the optional bets: Pair Plus and 6 Card Bonus. Then, the dealer shuffled and dealt three cards to me and three to himself. Notably, his cards were face down.
After the deal, I had to make two decisions:
Basically, you pick Play 1x if you’re confident your hand will win and Fold if the reverse is the case. Once I made my decision and the other players did too, the dealer revealed his cards. The game automatically compares the hands, and the winners are announced. That’s how easy Teen Patti is to play, which is why I consider it one of the best live casino games around.
However, before you start playing, you have to learn the hand rankings. They’re not much different from standard poker, as you can see below:
Rank | Hand Name | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mini Royal | Ace, King, and Queen of the same suit | A♠ K♠ Q♠ |
| 2 | Straight Flush | Three consecutive cards of the same suit | 5♦ 6♦ 7♦ |
| 3 | Three of a Kind | Three cards of the same rank | 8♣ 8♠ 8♦ |
| 4 | Straight | Three consecutive cards of any suit | 4♣ 5♦ 6♠ |
| 5 | Flush | Three cards of the same suit, not in sequence | 2♥ 7♥ 10♥ |
| 6 | Pair | Two cards of the same rank | K♠ K♦ 3♣ |
| 7 | High Card | None of t | A♣ 9♦ 5♠ |
If you and the dealer both have a High Card, the hand with the highest card value wins.
This side bet wins if your three cards form a Pair or Better. In other words, you’ll only lose if your hand is a High Card, according to the table above.
The 6 Card Bonus is a more dynamic side bet, which pays homage to the classic poker game. It wins if your three cards and any of the dealer’s three cards combine to create a strong 5-card poker hand.
When I checked the rules of Teen Patti by Evolution, I noted that the 6 Card Bonus takes these poker hands into account:
Hand Name | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Royal Flush | A-K-Q-J-10, all of the same suit | A♠ K♠ Q♠ J♠ 10♠ |
| Four of a Kind | Four cards of the same rank | 9♣ 9♦ 9♠ 9♥ 5♦ |
| Full House | Three of one rank plus a pair of another rank | Q♠ Q♦ Q♥ 5♠ 5♣ |
Besides the above, hands like Straight Flush and Three of a Kind also count.
Typical of Evolution, Teen Patti has a bet limit that can work for any player. It ranges from $0.50 to $5,000 for the Ante bet. Meanwhile, the limit is $0.50 to $1,000 for the Pair Plus side bet and $0.50 to $250 for the 6 Card Bonus.
I didn’t type in values or use a slider to set my bet when playing Teen Patti at live dealer casinos online. In the live table game, you place chips, which come in six values: 0.50, 1, 2, 5, 25, and 100. Hence, if I wanted to place the maximum $5,000 Ante bet, I'd select 50 of the 100-value chips.
From my perspective, Evolution was deliberate with the chip values to help players better manage their bets. Note that Teen Patti allows about 15 seconds between rounds for betting. If you want to play in a particular round, you’ll have to be relatively fast.
Your bet determines your potential payouts if you win while playing Evolution's Teen Patti. Based on my experience, there are varying payouts for Ante, Play, Pair Plus, and 6 Card Bonus wagers depending on the hand ranking. You can check them out below:
Hand | Payout |
|---|---|
| Straight Flush or higher | 5:1 |
| Three of a Kind | 4:1 |
| Straight | 1:1 |
| Dealer qualifies, and you win | 1:1 |
| Dealer doesn’t qualify | 1:1 |
Hand | Payout |

| Dealer qualifies, and you win | 1:1 |
| Dealer doesn’t qualify | Push (you get your bet back) |
Hand | Payout |
|---|---|
| Mini Royal | 100:1 |
| Straight Flush | 40:1 |
| Three of a Kind | 30:1 |
| Straight | 5:1 |
| Flush | 4:1 |
| Pair | 1:1 |

While betting on Teen Patti, it’s ideal to know your wager's return-to-player (RTP) percentage. The RTP indicates how much you can expect to win back from the game in the long run, after thousands of rounds. It’s theoretical, but I always consider it to know just how favorable a bet is. These are the varying RTPs for the various bet types in Teen Patti by Evolution:
Evolution’s Teen Patti isn’t a slot with reels or a live game show. As such, it doesn’t come with the type of bonus features you may have in mind. Nevertheless, I came across these helpful features while playing the card game:
The Strength Meter displays immediately after you receive your three cards, ranging from Weak to Strong. Basically, it tells you how strong your hand is and your chances of winning. Hence, you’ll agree with me that it’s a valuable tool to consider while playing. That said, remember that winning actually depends on the dealer’s hand. If the Meter is full, it doesn’t mean you’ll automatically win. There’s always the probability that the dealer’s hand can be as strong or better, no matter how small.
I’m hardly disappointed by an Evolution live game setup, and Teen Patti is no different. First off, I appreciate how straightforward the interface appears. The dealer takes center stage, usually dressed in traditional gold attire that reflects Indian culture. Meanwhile, behind him is a decorative background with arches, floral gold accents, and warm lighting. It’s a studio, no doubt, but it looks like a palace.
Placing bets was straightforward as the chips were clearly highlighted. Plus, the “Dealer Plays With Queen High or Better” text on the table instantly told me the number one rule in the game. Each bet type (Pair Plus, Ante, Play, and 6 Card Bonus) is neatly sectioned, so there’s no mistaking where to place your chips.
When I played Teen Patti on mobile using the best casino apps, the experience was also friendly. In fact, the table is longer in portrait view, making it easier to place bets. However, I did find the dealer a bit dull and not too lively in some rounds. Thankfully, they switch up from time to time, so you’ll come across one that creates a better vibe.
Evolution’s Teen Patti is available at many online casinos. However, if you want to have the best experience, I recommend the top casinos below. Each gambling site provides a smooth interface with no lag, the best casino bonuses, quick payouts, and responsive customer support.

Teen Patti by Evolution has many selling points that make it an interesting title to play. For me, the fast and straightforward gameplay pattern takes the lead. You just bet, make a decision, and see your results. A round takes only a few seconds.
Another commendable aspect of Teen Patti is the wide betting limit with properly valued chips for controlled staking. Whether you’re a casual player or a high roller, you can wager comfortably. The total 97.99% RTP is also decent, offering good potential returns in the long run.
The aspect of Teen Patti that I didn’t find too appealing is the 5:1 maximum payout for the Ante bet. That’s equivalent to a 5x multiplier in a slot, for example. It’s okay, but not what I’d describe as great.
Nevertheless, the fact that the Pair Plus and 6 Card Bonus side bets pay out a maximum of 100:1 and 1,000:1, respectively, makes up for the small Ante bet max payout. Overall, I consider Teen Patti by Evolution to be one of the best versions of the Three Card Poker game.
