Terms & Conditions: Casinos.com Monthly Giveaway Competitions

These Terms and Conditions govern two recurring monthly competitions operated by Casinos.com (the "Promoter"): the $200 Amazon Gift Card for Best News Comment Competition and the $200 Amazon Gift Card for Best New Slot Review Competition (each a "Promotion" and together the "Promotions"). Sections 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, and 8 apply to both Promotions. Sections 3 and 4 set out the Promotion-specific rules. By entering either Promotion, you agree to these Terms in full.

1. Eligibility

1.1 The Promotions are open only to residents of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada (excluding Quebec), and the United States (excluding the states of Florida and New York), who are at least 21 years of age at the time of entry.

1.2 Employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, and contractors of the Promoter, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotion agencies, and their immediate family members or household members, are not eligible to participate.

1.3 The Promotions are void in any jurisdiction where participation or the awarding of prizes is restricted, prohibited, or otherwise unlawful. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel either Promotion if required by applicable laws or regulatory authorities.

1.4 Residents of the province of Quebec are excluded from the Promotions as they have not been submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for registration.

2. Promotional Period

2.1 Both Promotions run on a recurring monthly basis. Each monthly entry period (the "Promotional Period") begins at 00:00:00 (UTC) on the first day of a calendar month and closes at 23:59:59 (UTC) on the last day of the same calendar month. Entries received outside a given Promotional Period will not be eligible for that month's selection but may be eligible for a subsequent month, subject to the Promotion-specific rules below. 

2.2 The selected winner for each Promotion in each Promotional Period will be chosen and contacted by no later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the following calendar month.

2.3 The Promoter reserves the right to amend the Promotional Period structure, pause, or terminate either Promotion at any time at its sole discretion, subject to clause 7.2.

3. Promotion A — Best News Comment Competition

3.1 Method of Entry

3.1.1 To enter, Eligible Entrants must, during a given Promotional Period, post a comment on a news article published on Casinos.com. Each comment posted by a unique registered user during a Promotional Period constitutes one (1) entry into that month's selection.

3.1.2 To be eligible, entrants must be registered members of the Casinos.com Loyalty Program at the time the comment is posted; comments must be submitted via the comment functionality on a Casinos.com news article and must comply with the Casinos.com community guidelines; and comments must be the entrant's own original work and must not contain unlawful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, AI-generated, plagiarised, or commercial content.

3.1.3 Multiple comments by the same entrant within a single Promotional Period are permitted; however, only the strongest comment from any individual entrant will be considered by the judging panel for that Promotional Period. 

3.1.4 Comments that are deleted, removed for breach of community guidelines, or determined by the Promoter to be spam, automated, duplicated, or otherwise illegitimate will be disqualified.

3.1.5 No purchase is necessary.

3.2 Winner Selection and Notification

3.2.1 One (1) winner per Promotional Period (the "Winner") will be selected by the Casinos.com editorial team from all valid, eligible comments posted during that Promotional Period. Selection will be based on the editorial team's good-faith assessment of the comment's insight, originality, relevance to the article, quality of writing, and contribution to the discussion.

3.2.2 The judging panel will include Casinos.com Executive Editor Dan Michalski, Brand Manager Colm Phelan, and other members of the Casinos.com editorial team as designated by the Promoter. The judging panel's decision is final.

3.2.3 Canadian entrants must correctly answer a skill-testing question to claim the prize, as required by law.

3.2.4 The Winner will be contacted via the email address linked to their Casinos.com account. Winners may be asked to provide proof of age and residency. The Winner must respond within seven (7) days of notification. 

3.2.5 The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the Winner via email. Failure to respond within the required time frame, failure to provide proof of eligibility, and (for Canadian entrants) failure to correctly answer a skill-testing question will result in disqualification. In such cases, an alternate winner may be selected at the Promoter's discretion.

3.2.6 The name of the Winner will be made available upon reasonable request to the Promoter within ninety (90) days of the close of the relevant Promotional Period, where required by applicable law.

3.3 Prize 

3.3.1 The Winner will receive one (1) Amazon e-gift card with a face value of $200 USD (two hundred US dollars) (the "Comment Prize"). The approximate retail value (ARV) of the Comment Prize is $200 USD.

3.3.2 The Comment Prize will be delivered electronically to the email address provided by the Winner. Use of the Comment Prize is subject to the terms and conditions of Amazon and the issuing entity. The Promoter is not responsible for any restrictions, fees, or limitations imposed by Amazon on the redemption or use of the gift card. 

4. Promotion B — Best New Slot Review Competition

4.1 Method of Entry 

4.1.1 To enter, Eligible Entrants must, during a given Promotional Period, submit a written review of an eligible slot game on its corresponding Casinos.com page. Each review submitted by a unique registered user during a Promotional Period constitutes one (1) entry into that month's selection.

4.1.2 An "eligible slot" is a slot game that has been released by its provider during the same calendar month as the Promotional Period and is listed on the Casinos.com New Slots hub. The Promoter's determination of slot eligibility is final.

4.1.3 To be eligible, entrants must be registered members of the Casinos.com Loyalty Program at the time the review is submitted; reviews must be submitted via the review functionality on the relevant slot's Casinos.com page; reviews must be the entrant's own original work, based on their own play of the slot, and must not contain unlawful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, AI-generated, plagiarised, or commercial content.

4.1.4 Each entrant may submit one (1) review per eligible slot but may submit reviews of multiple eligible slots within the same Promotional Period.

4.1.5 Reviews that are deleted, removed for breach of community guidelines, or determined by the Promoter to be spam, automated, plagiarised, AI-generated, or otherwise illegitimate will be disqualified.

4.1.6 No purchase is necessary. While the Promotion encourages reviews based on genuine play, entrants are not required to wager real money in order to submit an eligible review.

5. Prize — Common Provisions

5.1 There is no cash alternative for either Prize. Each Prize is non-transferable and must be accepted as offered. No Prize may be sold, exchanged, or redeemed for cash or any other consideration.

5.2 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute either Prize for an alternative of equal or greater value as it deems appropriate, at its sole discretion.

5.3 Either Prize may be taxable depending on the applicable laws in the Winner's country of residence. It is the Winner's sole responsibility to report the value of the Prize to the relevant tax authorities and to settle any tax liability arising from receipt of the Prize.

6. Publicity

6.1 By accepting a Prize, the Winner agrees to participate in reasonable publicity and promotional activities, including but not limited to use of name, username, likeness, and submitted comment or review content, for marketing, public relations, and advertising purposes of the Casinos.com website, social media channels, and associated platforms.

6.2 By submitting a comment or review, all entrants grant the Promoter a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, edit, and display their comment or review on Casinos.com and its associated channels in connection with the Promotions or otherwise. 

7. Data Protection and Privacy 

7.1 The Promoter will collect and process personal data of entrants (such as name, username, email address, country of residence, and submitted comment or review content) strictly for the purposes of administering the Promotions, verifying eligibility, contacting winners, awarding the Prizes, and fulfilling related legal and regulatory obligations. 

7.2 Where entrants choose to subscribe to the Casinos.com newsletter, their personal data will also be processed on the basis of the consent provided by them for marketing purposes. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email. 

7.3 All personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws. All personal data collected, processed, and stored in connection with the Promotions shall be handled strictly in accordance with our Privacy Policy and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and any other applicable data protection legislation. Entrants may exercise their statutory data protection rights (including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability, where applicable) by contacting the Promoter.

8. General Conditions

8.1 The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant who tampers with or abuses the entry process, submits AI-generated, plagiarised, or duplicated content, or who otherwise violates these Terms.

8.2 The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel either Promotion in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to force majeure, regulatory restrictions, or technical failures. The Promoter reserves the right to hold, void, suspend, cancel or amend either Promotion where it becomes necessary to do so. 

8.3 The Promoter's decisions, and the decisions of the editorial judging panel, are final and binding in all matters relating to the Promotions, and no correspondence shall be entered into.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by any entrant or Winner as a result of participating in the Promotions or accepting either Prize, except where caused by negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct.

9.2 The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, cost, or expense arising from the Winner's inability to redeem either Prize, including but not limited to issues caused by Amazon's terms of service, regional gift card restrictions, technical failures, or circumstances personal to the Winner.

9.3 If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these Terms, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms.
