Slotapalooza Draws 1,000+ to Circa for the World’s Largest Slot Party

Circa Resort & Casino is making a play to become the definitive home for slot players in downtown Las Vegas. Over the weekend, the property hosted Slotapalooza, which it billed as “the world’s largest slot party.”

Circa Stakes a Claim as Downtown’s Slot Capital

Most slot tournaments in Las Vegas cater to fewer than 100 players. In contrast, Slotapalooza featured an all-day tournament that was open to the public -- and the turnout was massive. Circa later confirmed more than 1,000 slot players participated.

The event also included hot seat promotions, giveaways, and activations from three major slot manufacturers. The Drumbots, known as the official drumline of the Vegas Golden Knights, helped keep the crowd energized.

Hot Seats and Cleopatra Tournament Showdown

Guests -- both invited and walk-in -- could join Saturday’s Cleopatra-themed slot tournament. Players competed in two-minute sessions to rack up points on Cleopatra machines.

The top scorer took home an authentic Game King video poker machine, while second through 50th place split $15,000 in free slot play. (A Cleopatra machine may have felt a little too on-the-nose for a grand prize -- but a Game King? That’s casino royalty.)

In addition to the main tournament, exclusive slot activations were scattered across the two-level casino, each limited to 200 players.

Slotapalooza also included a 15-minute hot seat promo across all 1,312 slot machines. Every 90 seconds, Circa awarded a share of $5,000 in free play to guests actively playing and who had RSVP’d for the event.

Everyone who participated -- regardless of winnings -- received a limited-edition “1312 Club” T-shirt.

Slot Stars and Spinfluencers Take Over

Each slot manufacturer brought its own flair.

Aristocrat rolled out a $10,000 slot pull featuring Spooky Link, one of its most popular new games, starring three adorably creepy characters: Yo Yeti, Go Ghost, and Mo Mummy.

Light & Wonder held court near the VSiN studio with a $5,000 slot pull and handed out branded backpacks and plush Huff N’ Puff characters.

Interblock, known for its electronic table games (ETGs), hosted a slightly different experience. Guests played roulette and craps-style ETGs for a share of $5,000 and branded swag. ETGs are classified as slots in Nevada, so they fit the theme just fine.

Circa Doubles Down on Immersive Entertainment

Since opening in 2020, Circa has carved out a reputation for large-scale, high-energy experiences. Slotapalooza is just the latest.

“We’ve thrown some pretty over-the-top events at Circa, but Slotapalooza took things to a new level,” CEO Derek Stevens said. “With every single slot machine in our casino running simultaneously and a packed crowd living it up, we were able to truly celebrate the players who bring our casino floors to life every day.”

Just a week prior, Circa shifted gears and hosted a Love Island watch party at Stadium Swim, complete with themed cocktails, villa-inspired décor, and a finale screening on its massive 143-foot video wall.

Other casinos are tapping into similar crossover appeal. Durango Casino also hosted a Love Island screening at one of its lounges.

With Las Vegas visitation trending down this summer, casinos are getting creative -- offering not just deals, but unique experiences that appeal to a wider swath of potential guests.
