Peter & Sons has grown into one of the most respected developers on the market. The popular Yggdrasil-affiliated studio impresses with its visually amazing slot games and exciting gameplay mechanics. It strikes high on all notes once again in Gnomes & Giants, a fantasy slot with all kinds of reel modifiers, including the fan favorite Gigablox.
I love it when a developer digs deep to produce a fantasy slot, especially one with such monsters. The cartoonish graphics perfectly suit the theme, but don’t mistake it for a child’s play of a slot. The base game is loaded with amazing features, including expansions, synced blocks, Gigablox, and other mysteries that combine to provide an authentic experience.
Specs-wise, the Gnomes & Giants slot has 50 paylines with medium variance and an RTP of 96.19%. The action takes place on a 6x6 grid. Bets range from 20c to $60 per spin, and the mobile slot is fully optimized for us on Android and iOS mobile devices. If you’re looking for a unique slot to play with all kinds of surprises, read my Gnomes & Giants review below.

Gnomes & Giants is a 6x6 slot game with all kinds of monsters on the reels. They’re not scary – the overall visual design of the slot game makes them kind of cute. Set in a fantasy kingdom somewhere far away, the slot also features a wizard on the left side who can spring into action randomly. The monsters and gnomes mostly come in the form of small blocks and in different colors.
Despite not being a Cluster Pays slot machine, all of the symbols can land in huge stacks. This means it’s easier to hit bigger wins from the get-go. As for the layout, it’s easy to play the slot. The controls are beneath the reels left and right, so you can easily adjust your bet, start playing, or take a look at the paytable and guide.
Peter & Sons’ slots are always innovative and rewarding, and Monsters & Gnomes is perfect proof of it.
Before you start playing Gnomes & Giants, you should take a look at the bet range. Players can choose between 20c and $60 per spin, which is suitable for new players and high rollers. Click the spin button to start playing. Alternatively, you can set up to 100 automatic spins. The action takes place across 50 fixed lines, with wins formed for three or more matching symbols from the left to the right.
The blocky monsters pay the highest prizes; for example, the red creature’s maximum payout is 5x the bet for 6 of a kind. But the wild trumps them all, paying 10x for the same combo while substituting for other symbols in winning combinations. The cool thing about this slot is that monsters land in blocks. I’ve seen many of the monsters regularly land in sizes up to 6x6 in the base game. Several monster blocks can land per spin.
Expanding monster blocks may also land and expand in both directions. There can be more than one block on the same spin. If they overlap, they will be converted to wilds.
A synced blocks feature can be triggered randomly at any point during the game. All monster blocks display the same symbol, and this feature can be combined with the expanding blocks.
The Gnomes & Giants free spins bonus round is triggered by five or more crystals. Each scatter awards a single free spin. This minigame starts with a progressive global win multiplier, which starts at x2. Every time you unlock a new tier, the multiplier is increased. This can be done by simply collecting scatters during the bonus round.
You can reach the bonus round naturally via five or more scatters or by activating the bonus buy round for 72x the bet. This gives you six bonus spins. If you want a random number between six and 24, it’ll cost you 150x the bet. The Golden Bet costs 50% more than your current bet but increases the chances of triggering the bonus round or getting monster blocks.
I had a very fun time with Gnomes & Giants. Landing the monster blocks is much more regular than you might think. I used to land them all the time – almost on each spin – even if they didn’t produce cash prizes. I had a few more than decent wins in the base game with expanding blocks, thanks to the synced reels, and it was a blast to play the bonus round, too.
I paid 72x for the free spins, and they turned out to be very productive. I only managed to collect three scatters, though, but the tripled wins were worth it. I hit around 85x during my bonus session, and it could have gone higher if I had more free spins to play.
The Gnomes & Giants slot RTP is set to 96.19%. That’s excellent for medium to highly volatile slots. The maximum projected win is 10,000x the bet.
Peter & Sons’ slots are always innovative and rewarding, and Monsters & Gnomes is perfect proof of it. The slot offers a thrill ride in a world of fantasy in both the base game and the bonus round. The big wins come with monster blocks and synced reels, as well as multipliers in the bonus round. Overall, it’s a very cool-looking slot that’s even cooler to play. It’s near the top among monster-themed slots, in my opinion.
If this is your first Peter & Sons slot, you should try many of its other hits available at the best casino sites, such as Johnan Legendarian or Dragon Blox Gigablox. They’re similarly monster-themed like Gnomes & Monsters and a great choice for fans of the studio.
