Las Vegas has long been known as a city of bright lights, big experiences, and unapologetic extravagance. From headline shows and iconic casinos to once-in-a-lifetime moments, Vegas casino destinations are built on excitement - and when it comes to love, few places embrace bold romantic gestures quite like the Sin City.

To better understand how Americans really feel about Las Vegas as a place to tie the knot, we surveyed over 1,000 adults across the U.S. Here’s what they had to say.

Americans Were Asked: How Appealing Do You Find Las Vegas as a Travel Destination?

More than seven in ten respondents find Las Vegas appealing to some degree, showing the city’s enduring pull as a travel destination. Only a small minority view it negatively, reinforcing Vegas’ status as a place many people still want to experience at least once. 

Americans Were Asked: Which Best Describes Your View of a Vegas Wedding?

Opinions are clearly divided. While the largest group views Vegas weddings as romantic and fun, a significant portion still sees them as reckless or tacky. This split highlights the lingering stereotypes that continue to surround Vegas ceremonies. 

Americans Were Asked: If Your Partner Suggested Eloping in Vegas, How Would You React?

Nearly two-thirds of respondents would either say yes immediately or seriously consider a Vegas elopement, highlighting just how appealing the idea has become. Even among those who feel hesitant at first, many are still open to the conversation, suggesting that a spontaneous Vegas wedding is viewed less as a risk and more as an exciting, meaningful possibility. 

Americans Were Asked: Which Matters More to You in a Wedding?

Experience clearly outweighs tradition for most respondents, with far more people focused on the moment itself rather than strict formalities. With legal formality ranking last overall, the data suggests modern couples value memorable, meaningful experiences over rigid expectations - a mindset that naturally complements the spirit of a Vegas wedding. 

Americans Were Asked: Do You Think Men or Women Are More Open to Impulsive Weddings?

There’s no clear frontrunner on this question. Opinions are relatively balanced, with many respondents saying men and women are equally open to impulsive weddings, suggesting that spontaneity in love isn’t confined to one gender. 

Americans Were Asked: Would You Ever Consider Getting Married in Las Vegas if It Was Paid For?

Covering the cost dramatically increases interest. Nearly 90% of respondents say they’d either say yes or at least consider a Vegas wedding if it were paid for, suggesting that budget, not romance, is often the real hesitation.

Methodology

Survey was conducted via SurveyMonkey, where 1,000+ Americans were quizzed on their Vegas wedding opinions. The survey included an equal gender split, and a variety of all ages of people over 18 and up to 60. The full results are available upon request at [email protected].
